- For new clients: Here’s what happens when you come to one of our food banks: - We’ll ask to see a photo ID with your name, date of birth and address. If your ID isn’t current, please bring something that shows your current address, for example a piece of mail such as a utility bill. - We’ll ask the names and birthdates for everyone in your household. - We’ll enter your information into our database. (After your first visit you will only need to provide your name and any changes in your address or information.) - To complete the check-in process, we’ll ask you to sign your name on a computer signature pad. (We are required to gather signatures by the commodity program that provides some of our food.) - After you have checked in you will be served in the order of check-in. - When it’s your turn, you’ll be given a shopping cart and a volunteer will go through the aisles with you to help you choose food that meets your family’s needs. We aim to provide you and your family with enough nutritious food to make three meals a day for three days. - Similar to a grocery store on wheels, it is an inside shopping experience equipped with refrigerators and freezers so the food people receive is very similar to our regular food banks.
