Housing Assistance at Island County Human Services (Coupeville)
Rental assistance screenings are completed the first week of each month for households who are behind on their rent. Deposit assistance is offered throughout the month. To qualify for rental assistance or deposit assistance, households need to be at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). For households who are unhoused or are at risk of losing their housing, intakes are done at any time. Referrals for emergency shelter are based on vulnerability and program openings..

Required documents
14 day pay or vacate notice or an Eviction notice, income verification, photo ID. For deposits, need approval letter from landlord with client's name, address of property, rent amount and deposit amount.
Eligibility
For emergency shelter referrals, households must be unhoused or at imminent risk of being unhoused. For rental and deposit assistance, households must be low income (50% of the Area Median Income or below). Must be Island County residents.
