The Host Families Program provides safe homes for children of families in crisis. A family can have their child or children stay with a host family anywhere from one night up to several weeks or months. The service is meant to provide respite for a family going through a crisis like homelessness, medical issues, domestic violence, or mental health issues. Families retain custody of their children and can have their children returned to them at any time.
Navy and Department of Air Force (DAF) families who are enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program and meet prescribed eligibility criteria receive an authorized allotment of respite care per family per month, at no cost for the EFMP children.
This program helps families experiencing homelessness find and pay for high-quality, licensed child care. Families can either call for assistance or email [email protected].
Offers support in the form of a voucher (financial award) for unpaid caregivers who support a family member, friend, or neighbor who has a special need or condition. The voucher is used to pay for services or programs that allow the caregiver to have respite, or “short breaks”. Lifespan Respite vouchers are for short-term respite.

The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) helps low income families living within Seattle city limits who have with a parent working or attending school to pay for child care for children 1 month to 12 years of age. At this time, there is a waitlist for the program due to high demand. Join the waitlist by following the directions on the webpage.
Provides assistance to Native American and Alaska Indian families with children aged 4 weeks up to 13 years-old enrolled in a Federally Recognized Tribe.
