The Kinship Navigator provides advocacy, information and referral services to those who are raising their relatives' children either temporarily or long term. The Navigator provides information about how to access and apply for services as well as problem solve and advocate for kinship families when or if issues arise. These services are provided to assist kinship caregivers, who are over the age of 18, with understanding and navigating community services for children living with relatives while reducing barriers faced by kinship caregivers when accessing services. Some of the services that the Kinship Navigator can provide include, but are not limited to, advocacy and referral, support groups, parent education, child care, legal guidance, housing assistance, financial support and medical, dental and mental health resources.
